She also added:
Second, the why – do you want to build a lasting and real community? Then you need a way to verify ownership through wallets, etc that’s easily integrated w/ Discord, websites, etc. Positively contributing to communities you care about is necessary for progress!
Third, the implications – Access and verification are imperative for real world use cases like content, experiences, memberships, etc. Token-gating functionality is key to build for use cases beyond speculation – consumers need to be able to *use* these tokens!
Excited to see how token-gating develops natively for individual blockchains, as well as for larger ecosystem interoperability
