1/ XRPL:
Hooks Hooks is a proposal that would add smart contract-like functionality to the #XRPLedger as layer one custom code to influence behavior and flow of transactions.
2/ Hooks are small, efficient pieces of code defined on an #XRPL account, allowing logic to be executed before and/or after XRPL transactions.
3/ The core security model and runtime loop guarding at runtime ensure hooks are executed in a fast, light and secure way. They also monitor and calculate resource costs to reject hooks that are inefficient.
4/ Hooks let you handle special situations automatically. For example, a bank could add a hook to only accept payments from specific lists.
