In a tweet, Wietse Wind recently urged to use only Xumm Support xApp for the support feature. He noted:
Support is a real pain in DeFi/crypto: scammers everywhere, impersonators, fake support. Which is why some time ago we launched the Xumm Support xApp, and only provide support in-app. We push the message that this is our ONLY support channel to be trusted.
We redirect social media (DM, Tweets) to our in-app support ASAP. With @XummWallet already installed on the phone of our users, in-app support is convenient, trusted & there is *no* way someone can fake another Support xApp in Xumm.
Every time there’s something new, something exciting, something popular, we see scammers jump on it. Fake Twitter accounts, fake DM, fake supports ends users to a scam form, asking for secrets, etc. We are already keeping your keys safe. We want to see the ecosystem succeed.
Which is why I am proposing to work with all the XRPL platforms and builders out there, to move their support to @XummWallet as well. A clone of our Xumm Support xApp of their own, and a license on the amazing backend support desk software we’re building ourselves.
Together we’d keep the users even safer, push the “don’t trust social media support, find us in Xumm” narrative even more.
